Ballet Folklorico de Los Banos' performing season usually begins on the last week of April, at the May Day Fair. From January to March the dance company is on hiatus learning new choreography, constructing new costumes, and raising funds for the performing season. Several of our more advanced performers have participated in Danzantes Unidos. This statewide event offers numerous dance workshops from different states of Mexico, taught by professional folklore instructors from Mexico and California. In addition, we brought Nino Carrillo from Ballet Folklorico Alma de Mexico to Los Banos. He conducted new workshops for all our dancers. This ensures that all our performers receive tutelage from professional instructors. Here is our schedule of recent or upcoming events: April 1 - 3nd Anniversary Celebration of Ballet Folklorico Infantil de Los Banos Last Weekend in April - Merced County Spring Fair and Parade - Downtown Los Banos and Fairgrounds May - Mothers Day in the Park - Pacheco Park, Los Banos May - Mothers Day Mariachi Concert - Los Banos Art Council, Old St. Joseph's Church, Los Banos June - Relay for Life Celebration - Pacheco Park, Los Banos. July - Los Banos July 4th Celebration at the Fairgrounds August - Newman Fall Festival, Newman September - Performances for Mexican Indepenance Day at local schools. December - Los Banos Christmas Parade
In addition to these regularly scheduled events, we usually do several other performances by request during the year at area rest homes, various Folklorico Festivals, etc.
